The article above is from the Derbyshire Times & reads as follows -

Over 500 people from more than 25 churches took to the streets for an annual parade celebrating the Christian faith.

Organisers of Chesterfield's Procession of Witness said the march through town on Monday was one of their best events.

The theme of this year's Whit Walk, part of the national Hope '08 campaign, was 'Jesus Christ – Hope for Chesterfield'.

Procession secretary Chris Townsend said: "The churches and other organisations involved found imaginative, colourful and attractive ways of showing the people of Chesterfield that there is hope in Jesus Christ.

"This was one of the best acts of witness in recent years and, we hope, a splendid contribution to 'Hope 08'."

The procession was led by the Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Fred Quayle and Shirley Boulton, alongside President of Christian Education in Chesterfield Clive Dennis.

Representatives from Samaritan's Purse, St John Ambulance and St Michael's Soup Kitchen joined the march.

A gospel choir from The New Testament Church of God entertained the crowds on Rose Hill before a short service.

                                                                          Now let's worship!!!

It’s Saturday 15th of March when two churches become united. To have a time of celebration, friendship, unity and hopefully a long lasting future of two churches working together in unity for the greater cause of people working together and to be “one” working in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

The evening was wonderful. Praise & worship took on a new meaning!!

Truly the presence of the Lord was felt not only in the building but also in the heart of those present.

I pray that through this and on many other occasions people from outside will be drawn in and lives will be changed. I also pray that the word of God will reach those far and near.

Our speaker for the evening – Mrs Heather Butler – prophesied of many things that are to take place in our church as well as our community. Her sermon was touching. Many were prayed for and blessed. Overall, it was a blessed evening.

I do hope that brethren enjoyed the evening as much as I did and was blessed by the Holy Spirit.

I hope that all will pray that as time goes on we will see this small assembly become full with people of all ages, drawn in from all backgrounds and nations.
God is good at all times!

“Hallelujah, Amen”
